Windows 7 GodMode : Control the controls !

Here’s a neat Windows 7 trick that’s been doing the rounds on the Internet. It enables “GodMode,” a term devised by the Microsoft development team, which provides a single place to access all Windows settings without needing to browse options and folders in the Control Panel.

The name would imply much more powerful and potentially devious capabilities, as seen in most games these days.  Instead, the “God Mode” folder for Windows 7 supplies a tidy place to find nearly everything you can do within the Windows Control Panel.

To enable God Mode :

1. On your desktop, Right click and create a new folder.

2. Name the folder as follows :

GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}

Note: You can change the text “GodMode”, but the following period and code number are essential.

3. The folder icon will change to the control panel icon. Open the folder to access God Mode.

Word has it that this hack also works on Vista 32-bit, but crashes on 64-bit versions.

    No, it is not a jailbreak. More like putting shortcuts to settings, and some additional settings, in one place.

    Just to let you know not the whole name of the god mode folder is visible. Maybe you could edit that

    Enterprises are still running on windows installations I put in place 9 years ago.

    People who know what they’re doing don’t have the problems that stupid little boys have.

    Hello, – stumbled on your blog accidentally when wandering across the internet this afternoon, and glad that I did! I like the page structure and colours, but I really should point out that I’m having problems when it loads. I’m using iCab 3 browser for mac, and the menu block would not align properly. i am convinced used exactly the same layout on a customer’s site, but the menu seems O.k on mine. I suspect the fault is at this end & I’m guessing it is time to swap!
