Verizon & Sprint handled 16 billion more MB data than AT&T in 2009

Before I start off your probably thinking, “Ok what the hell is this?” or “this isn’t jailbreak news”. Technically though it has to do with the iPhone somewhat since AT&T’s biggest phone obviously is the iPhone. Seeing as Apple has sold 50 million iPhones, as they announced during the April 8th announcement of iPhone 4(.0 OS)
With that many iPhones, and of course all 50 million don’t belong to AT&T, but the fact that AT&T is a major U.S. carrier with the greatest phone ever, that is a lot of data. Of course, you’d think that AT&T would be the first carrier in the U.S. to have like a lot of TB transferred, right? Well that’s what I thought. Apparently though Verizon beat out AT&T, along with Sprint. Big Red and Sprint have handled a grand total of 63% of data transferred last year.
This was reported by ABI Research, and they claim that this is because of AT&T’s smaller 3G network, mind you while it is still small, its much more faster than Verizon’s 3G, almost EDGE-like network, and also because of the EV-DO network cards that they sell.
New iPhone 99% likely to come this year in the summer though, do you think AT&T might take this award for 2010? or 2011? Let us know!

I think AT&T’s low data number should be credited to the fact that most iPhone users use wifi for the majority of data usage. Just a thought
OK, is that the combined total for both, that is greater than AT&T alone? If so, give us the individual totals for each company, to be fair.
I believe that the reason at&t has the lowest data number is simply because their network is infirior to Verizons. AT&T has one major smart phone…..to where Verizon has a plethera of smart phones and their advertising isn’t just for one phone. The android os is desrtoying iphones right now. The customization alone is far and beyond anything the iphone can dream of having. The only reason people still love the iphone is because they are ignorant to the fact that there is multiple operating systems and networks superior to the iphone and AT&T.
