Official Statement from Apple on White iPhone 4 Delay

Apple has come clean, explaining why there is a delay with the white iPhone 4.

White models of Apple’s new iPhone® 4 have proven more challenging to manufacture than expected, and as a result they will not be available until the second half of July. The availability of the more popular iPhone 4 black models is not affected.

This means we may have both black and white models, for the Canadian launch of iPhone 4. As you remeber, there was a delay in the US with 3G iPads, but then we had all iPad models at the international launch.

    I don’t see why it would be more challenging to make in white lol but oh well this gives me time to wait for it to get unlocked (I currently have a 3G unlocked with tmobile) and jailbroken. Thanks for posting this.
