New Spirit-like Jailbreak Delayed
There are rumors floating around that the new Spirit iOS 4 jailbreak (not sure though if it’ll still be named Spirit) which is expected to work on all iDevices including the new iPhone 4 will be released today. We don’t know where this started, but we’re pretty sure, jailbreak aficionados out there especially iPhone 4 owners got excited over this bit of news. Unfortunately though, it won’t be happening. As MuscleNerd rightly said, there is no point in releasing a half-baked jailbreak tool which causes issues for the end-users.
Not to make it a daily thing, but since somehow people thought it would be today: the new JB+unlock won’t be out today.
There are apparently some issues that still need to be resolved with this upcoming iPhone jailbreak and some of the new features on the iPhone 4 such as Facetime before they give it their seal of approval and roll it out to the jailbreak community. Don’t worry. It’ll be released, just not today.
Let’s just keep our fingers crossed that they don’t encounter anymore problems along the way, and hopefully, they can properly address the ones they’ve already found so that this new jailbreak can finally be put to good use by the awaiting public.

Yeah guys way to go. Take your time d-team. We can wait. I have three iPhone 3GS new bootrom to be JB. I can wait. In d-team v trust!!!
I want the jailbreak now!!!
ive got a hunch they found a way to enable facetime over 3g
and just finish off the code for that.
think about it, how would FT be effected by a JB?
@ London
I doubt this jailbreak has anything to do with FaceTime. New phone, new specs should mean new type of jailbreak no? Not literally new but with it’s minor tweak or two. What I don’t doubt is that with a jailbroken iPhone 4 you’ll be able to do FaceTime over 3G at some point, that is guaranteed that feature will come around and it wouldn’t further surprise me if you had to buy the tweak to use it.
@Johnny
I doubt also this jailbreak has anything to do with FaceTime,
or more to the point anything to do with jb=ft bugs, which is why they say its delayed.
but im sure now that they are ‘in’ simply enabling 3gft would be simple, and no need for any extra code (app)
jb + ft over 3g would be a nice treat right?
i guess we will see soon enough, and its fun to speculate.
and what better ‘cheers’ would be heard when they announce the jb release at vagus this week with ft over 3g eh?
another apple restriction lifted.
watch this space.
@Pedro people screaming at the jailbreakers is why Geohot left. And since Comex makes a jailbreak for free, suck it up for a while.
I think that Geohot said he was leaving so he can surprise all of us later with a new JB. If he really left, now that JB is legal, he sure will come back.
You guys should hire a software developer and hacker to write your jb. If you’re in a hurry them do something about it. You people are not entitled to anything from these guys. They do this at no pay – they have no obligation to ever release. Hack it yourselves.
Just wait my gosh
