EXCLUSIVE: Icy Ready to Launch for iOS 4.x this week

We learned from rumours earlier this week that Icy, Ripdevs Cydia alternative that was shut down and made open source after 3.1.x release, is set to make appearance on iPhones and iPads near you. But since we were not sure about the legitimacy of the rumours, we thought to hold back until we could get to the roots of this. And it turns out that folks from Infini-Dev Team have been working hard to bring us back our old Cydia alternative, the fast and light-weight Icy.

Other than Icy, we have also received reports regarding Lima, a completely Mobile Safari based version of Cydia which let’s you browse and install Cydia packages right from Safari on your iPhone or iPod touch. Advantage of this would be no loading times every time you browse to Lima unlike Cydia. We have no ETA’s on when it will be released. Lima was teased running on an iPod touch in the video below:

As of now, Icy has been completely updated to work on iOS 4.x and has entered beta stage. It is being tested for bugs. And since these are no rumours, you can actually go ahead and download the beta version of Icy from here.

P.S. SSH this anywhere on to your iDevice and install using iFile. Respring and enjoy Icy cold Icy.

This is BS. WeAmDev has been working harder and longer then them. We already have support, no betas! Infini-Dev can share the fame. Icy has been avalible for at least a yea with WeAmDev

Lima is tru, icy is also tru.
Weamdev had it before us, but they where way to slow. No ipad support, no 4.3.1 support, no 4.3.2 support, no backups.
I just felt like doing this.

No this will not work on 1.1.2 just upgrade to 2.0. honostly not that hard to find the download on the Internet. just type iPod touch 2.0 download (google)When you find,Download, and go to iTunes when it’s finished. Hold shift on the restore iPod button when it tells you to open a file click the one you downloaded let it upgrade and there you go itunes should let you go to 2.2 but that’s not nessicary unless you want it peace
