Pimp Your Ride : There’s an app for that!

Well if you thought there wasn’t an app for modifying your car, think again!

Always wanted to check what would your car look like after applying those sick rims and wide body kit? There’s an app for that too.

Cars.tomizer Pro allows users to load a side photo of thei own vehicle (either left or right side) and add parts to it. All the parts are fully customizable in the sense that users can reposition, mirror, resize and rotate them. Users can add wheels, brake systems, side skirts, rear wing, and decals to their vehicles.

In the latest version, Cars.tomizer Pro has been added with better quality parts. The most recent major addition to Cars.tomizer Pro is the In-App Vehicles library where users can choose vehicles from inside the app itself to customize. So, practically anyone can customize a vehicle with Cars.tomizer Pro.

Cars.tomizer Pro 1.2 is priced at $1.99 (USD). It is available worldwide exclusively through the App Store in the Utilities/Entertainment category. For those who would like to try the app’s capability first, there is also a free version of this app called Cars.tomizer Lite, but with very few parts and vehicles and some functions are not included.

SBSetting 3.0.9 – Rotation, iPad Integration & New Features

Yesterday, SBSettings was updated to version 3.0.9-11 and released in BigBoss’s main source. Below is a full change log for the update but, a few of the major changes include rotation, better iPad integration and a few new options.

I was pretty stoked when I heard about the new rotation feature however, it was mostly created for iPad users. When your iPhone or iPod touch is in landscape mode and you swipe to launch SBSetting, it hangs off all weird. You are still able to use the toggles however, you are unable to get to the other options such as More, Refresh, Dock, Respring and Power. BigBoss has said that he does not plan to fix this issue due to the fact that it was basically created for iPad users. However, it can be disabled.

SBSettings v3.0.9 Now In Beta Repo

So SBSettings v3.0.9-1 is in the beta repo for testing.  I have a lot of pressure to release this for ipad users so it will be a short beta and this version is likely to just move into the main repo soon. If anyone wants to test it, remembering it’s beta, add http://thebigboss.org/betarepo to your cydia sources and update the toggle pack and sbsettings. Here are the changes:

1) SBSettings window rotates to landscape. This feature was done for ipad. But it also works on iPhones. Requires the statusbar to be rotated so an app rotated or sbrotator installed.  On iPhones, the window is too long to fit so the bottom part scrolls off the screen. I do not ever plan to fix this. Also, window does not rotate live. It comes down in whatever orientation your statusbar is in at the time you call it.

2) Fixed ipad bug that causes ipod mode on your ipad after a reboot. (This was what saurik had in big red writing). Note other extensions may cause this besides mine.

3) Adjusted some of the toggles for ipad such as 3g and phone to show up as incompatible with ipad. 3g should show up on a 3g ipad, but dont have one to test.

4) Fixed dock and processes widget crash on ipad or iphone 4.0 while trying to get an icon.

5) Modified the respring function to rebuild the cache using uicache. This is the only way to get icons to show up on 3.2 and 4.0.

Categories update is there also and only adds the uicache feature for 3.2/4.0.

DashBoard For iPad – Rejected By Apple, Released in Cydia

Apple has rejected the DashBoard App for the iPad & as per usual, it only means that it will find a new home. In perfect timing with the Spirit JB release, the rejection couldn’t have come at a better time  - The Developer Rich Hong has made the App available via Cydia for free.

The app is fantastic and works just like the dashboard on the Mac OSX

While the drag and drop does lag just a little bit, its still rather stable. The trick is to Tap the Widget & hold it for a second or two & then move it & drop it where you would like to place it.

You can also get mode widgets for the dashboard from the built in ‘Get more Widgets’ Tab.

To Download DashBoard for iPad – Launch Cydia on your iPad & Search for DashBoard.

Requirements – Your iPad Must Be Jailbroken. The DashBoard can be Activated Via the DashBoard icon.

Tab+ Released: Increase Safari Tabs Limit On Your iPad

Apple has put a limit on how many Tabs you can have on the iPad. Now some off us have gotten use to the speed Dial on Safari or Google Chrome. Now for some reason if you want to have more then just 9 Tabs you can use the Tab+ Tweak from Cydia to enable more Tabs in iPad’s Safari.
