Backgrounder Is Updated To Version SVN.R504-1
The application Backgrounder, a Mobile Substrate-based extension that brings muti-tasking on iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad, was updated to version SVN.R504-1.
Backgrounder SVN.R504 changelog:
- FIX: The settings file was not being loaded correctly.
- This is a long-standing bug that appears to affect all recent firmware (> 3.1.3?)
- This bug caused App Store apps to always use the Backgrounder method to background, even if set to use Native.
- Note that there may still be issues with some of Apple’s default apps on 4.0.
Backgrounder is available in Cydia via BigBoss repository for free.

Winterboard Updated for iOS 4. Still a Few Bugs.
This excerpt is brought to you by iEvolution. Written by Rory Piper
One of the main reason folks like to jailbreak their iDevices is to change the look of the user interface and to change the sounds, to personalize the device. The easiest way to do all of this is with Winterboard.

Winterboard has been updated to 0.9.3210-1, and now works with iOS 4. Now you can have all your favorite SMS Tones and UI themes in the new firmware. Themes are going to work a bit different in iOS 4, so most themes will not look to same as they used to, unless you have Sumerboard mode turned on. Please be patient while the developers get things updated. I installed the Glass Orbs theme, and the only thing that had been applied, was the wallpaper. I turned on Summerboard mode, and most things worked fine.

There is still one huge bug: Winterboard breaks the task switcher, so your multitasking experience is pretty much gone. You just get a black bar at the bottom of the screen.

Cydia Installer, Mobile Substrate, UIKit Tools Upadted for iOS 4
long with the launch of iOS 4 today, and the impending release of the new jailbreak tools. Cydia received an update today, along with Mobile Substrate and UIKit Tools, for iOS 4 compatibility. Mobile Substrate is what a lot of jailbreak apps rely on to run on a jailbroken iDevice. The update is available now.

After installing this update, I got a message saying “Cannot activate cellular data network”, but after a respring, and waiting a minute everything was working fine. Now that Mobile Substrate has been updated, we should see a slew of new jailbreak updates hitting Cydia, very soon.

Read MoreDo You Spotify?
Do you know about Spotify? I have been using it to stream music cleaner and faster than Lala since early last year. If you live in the US, chances are you have no idea what I am talking about. There is apparently only 30,000 American users or less, according to Spotify. Even if there are thirty thousand, this is tiny compared to the amount that would actually use this incredible streaming service if it were widely known and/or officially available to United States citizens. The launch date was supposed to be “late 2009″ but it sort of faded away and since then, nothing has happened…
If you are interested in accessing this incredible service and reducing the need for a huge amount of songs on your computer and/or iDevice, read on.
