Make It Mine makes changing your carrier text or banner text easy.

First thing is to go download Make It Mine from Cydia.

After you have downloaded the app, open Make It Mine and choose what you want your Banner or Carrier to say.

Just tap Banner or Carrier to place that text in the right place.

FaceTime over 3G Demo [Video]

Overall FaceTime over 3G seems to work very well, maybe some bugs still to be worked out. I think for doing video conferencing over 3G it is really good. Thanks to the makers of My3G for making this happen.

Cyntact Updated To Version 1.4.1-1 – Personalize Your Contacts

Cyntact is one of the first paid applications in the Cydia Store developed by Saurik. This is a great update for iPhone 4 Users.

App does cost $1.00 in Cydia.

To display a picture in the contact list, launch Phone.app, choose Contacts and select the contact. Tap Edit, press add photo, either Take Photo or Choose Existing Photo, then Move/Scale and Choose.

Geohot jailbreaks iPhone 4

He’s been off the map for quite a while. Of course, we’re talking about George Hotz.

After months of silence, Geohot has finally published a new blog post in which he talks about iPhone 4 jailbreak situation, limera1n, and Pwned4life exploit which he recently talked about at the Nuit Du Hack conference in Paris. According to his latest blog post, Geohot has managed to jailbreak the iPhone 4.

Got one of these in the mail today and figured I’d give it a shot.

As far as a release goes, it probably won’t happen from me. limera1n is little more than a raindrop on a website; it was never mentioned by me previous to this post. pwned4life is a complete invention of some blogger in a basement somewhere. When I said pwned for life, I was referring to the original iPhone, 3G, and Touch; which of course are, by the aptly named PwnageTool.

As for the release dates, it probably wont happen from him. Comex’s Spirit like jailbreak tool is still the most likely candidate for the release, which will probably happen once Apple rolls out the new iOS 4.0.1 /4.1 firmware update for iPhone 4, 3GS and 3G.

Activator Now Compatible With iOS 4

iPhone developer Ryan Petrich has updated Activator to version 1.40-BETA-1 which adds support for iOS 4. Activator is a common library for activation of apps and plugins. Basically it allows you to assign gestures to launch specific apps installed from Cydia. For example:

Home Button – Double Press, Short Hold, Single Press

Motion – Shake Device – Shake and Bake! (Ricky Bobby  )

Sleep Button – Double Press, Short Hold

Slide In Gesture – Screen Bottom – Left or Right

SpringBoard – Icon Pinch, Icon Spread

Status Bar – Double Tap, Hold, Swipe Down, Swipe Left, Swipe Right

Volume Buttons – Display Tap, Down, Up or Up, Down

Latest changelog:

• Unassign button in settings header
• Send deactivate event at lock screen
• Basic volume event heuristics
• Fixed lock/menu event weirdness
• Abort event when Voice Control is triggered
• Prevent getting “stuck” inside an app
• Wildcat support
• Fix potential crash
