Read MoreDo You Spotify?
Do you know about Spotify? I have been using it to stream music cleaner and faster than Lala since early last year. If you live in the US, chances are you have no idea what I am talking about. There is apparently only 30,000 American users or less, according to Spotify. Even if there are thirty thousand, this is tiny compared to the amount that would actually use this incredible streaming service if it were widely known and/or officially available to United States citizens. The launch date was supposed to be “late 2009″ but it sort of faded away and since then, nothing has happened…
If you are interested in accessing this incredible service and reducing the need for a huge amount of songs on your computer and/or iDevice, read on.

Fix Bluetooth Woes: how to force the soft. keyboard to re-appear

From Flickr User: aallan
If you use your iPad with a bluetooth keyboard often, you’ve probably found yourself angrily tapping the heck out of the address bar in Safari because you just remembered that you left your bluetooth keyboard on in the other room. Now, your stuck with a keyboard-less iPad and you have to get up from the couch, take 8 steps you’ll never get back, and turn off the bluetooth keyboard.
However, Erica Sadun from TUAW decided she had lost one step too many and came up with a simple solution you can get right off Cydia:
I’ve posted a little utility, which I call KeysPlease over on my website (direct application link) and on the ModMyI repository (thanks, Kyle!). I’ve added it to my iPad dock, and now when I’m in the wrong room I just tap the app icon to retrieve my soft keyboard.
So if you’ve found the lack of a soft keyboard while connected to a bluetooth keyboard annoying, go ahead and search for KeysPlease on Cydia; your iPad’s url bar will thank you.
Read MoreUsing iWhiteboard to Create a Truly Epic Post.
iWhiteboard by Andy Aude was recently released on Cydia through BigBoss, and it will be used in the creation of iFile 101.

As promised, Yoshi and I have been working on our future post, iFile 101. We envision it as a guide for those who wish to possess more knowledge and control of their iDevice. It is intended to enrich the understanding of those who have some, and open the floodgates for those who have none. It is our gift back to the community, our way of saying thanks to the all the Devs that gave the “special abilities” to our devices and especially to Carstein Heinelt, the creator of iFile. We wish it to be a trusted resource and intend it to be a work in progress. We will accept written and video contributions from those who wish to add content to iFile 101, upon approval of course, and we will take requests for updates to the guide.
Read MoreHow to Easily Create Icons Using iFile and iRetouch!
This tutorial will teach you how to create an icon(s) from pictures/screenshots in your camera roll! For the purpose of this guide, I will show you how to change the icon for the app iRetouch, which you need to install to do this. It is easy to do after you have done it once and you will be able to amaze people by quickly making their face, or any pic an app icon on your springboard! Required apps: iFile, iRetouch, Winterboard.
Step 1. Install iFile from Cydia. This app is free to use, but premium features require a paid registration. This app will allow you to browse and edit your device’s file system as the Root user.
Step 2. Install iRetouch, this is available on the App Store. It is a paid app, but there is a light version. This is an easy to use photo editor that can re-size images and save back to your photo library. I prefer this app over PSMobile for editing and resizing on the go!
Step 3. Open iFile and navigate to /var/stash/Themes or /Library/Themes. Hit edit, then touch the plus sign at the bottom left. This will create a new file or directory. Name it whatever you want, for this example, name it “NEW.theme”, and go to the “Type” field and select “Directory”. Then hit “Create”. Then open this folder, and hit “edit” and the plus sign again and create another directory file and call it “Icons”.

Swirly MMS brings Text Messaging to the iPad
Bloddy hell. Why doesn’t Apple just make this a part of the 3G iPad? If it’s intended to work on the 3G network, why in gods name would you NOT include MMS and SMS into the iPad. We spent so much time creating our own MMS add-ons for iPhone OS until 3.0 came out.
You’ll be glad to know that Swirly MMS has done it again, and is bringing MSS texts to your 3G iPad.
While the application is still in heavy development, it has been updated to work with the iPad. Of course you will need to be jailbroken, and you’ll be able to find Swirly in Cydia.
