Filipo Bigarella, the man behind tweaks like Springtomize, CleverPin & FBPhotoSave etc. has come up with yet another tweak for Tweetbot, everyones new favourite twitter client.

We loved the Twitlonger for when we needed to say more than 140 characters to express ourselves. But in an update to Twitter for iPhone last year, support for twitlonger was removed completely. Bigarella has been working on the same idea for the all new shiny & glossy Tweetbot client for iPhone & iPod touch. Pastie for tweetbot adds an extra button to the user-interface while you compose a tweet longer then 140 characters. If triggered, the tweet is sent to pastie and a link is posted with your partial tweet.

Here are some screenshots:

The tweak has been through all the development stages and the beta version is now in hands of the testers. You can download the beta version from Cydia via the iSpazio repo for free.

There may still be delays, although we will try for there not to be any.” Chpwn has been working with Saurik on improving Cydia, but by the sounds of it, it will not be ready to be released alongside the greenpois0n release, but it will be something else to look forward to after jailbreaking.

The Dev-Team recently updated their blog saying that they have begun testing the exploit developed by @pod2g, into a beta version of PwnageTool to get a head start on things.

Those of you with Apple’s new iPod touch 4G, or those of you who bought another recent device after the jailbreakme.com exploit was closed, have probably heard about a brand new exploit called SHAtter. The exploit (and payload) was developed by @pod2g a few months after @p0sixninja of the Chronic Dev Team discovered the crash. That team is hard at work bringing you a brand new tool to make use of the exploit. It’s not the sort of thing that can be developed overnight so please be patient while waiting for any announcements from them.

In the meantime, we’ve put @pod2g’s exploit into a beta version of PwnageTool to test the waters. The SHAtter exploit was enough to convince the iPod touch 4G to restore to our custom IPSW. The successful result is shown below! It’s all working: customized Preferences to show battery percentage, Cydia, root shell…the works!

1. qTweeter.
qTweeter will change the way you tweet. It connects not only with your twitter account but also with your FaceBook, making it easy to post an update from anywhere in iOS. Simply swipe down from the status bar to activate qTweeter. You are then given the option to post your update with music, video, pictures, links and so much more. After you use qTweeter you will not want to change to your previous twitter app. That being said it doesn’t allow you to view updates by people you are following but then again it was made to do what it does best, update your Twitter and FaceBook!

Price: $3.99

Source: BigBoss

2. Grid lock
Grid lock is a very smart tweak that allows you to place icons anywhere on the springboard that you please, much like the Android OS. It does have some annoying glitches at times but if you can work through those then this is an amazing tweak. It helps to make themes that would other wise require iBlank or Iconoclasm a lot easier to put together and use.

Price: $.99

3. Quicklock 2
There isn’t much to say about Quicklock 2. It does exactly what it says, locks your iDevice quickly. After installing, an icon will be added to your springboard that locks your iDevice upon opening. And that’s pretty much it. One complaint that could easily be fixed by the user with basic knowledge of ssh, was the icon for Quicklock 2 displayed as a plain white block. This didn’t seem to happen with everyone but it can be a bit annoying. This tweak is especially useful if you have a defective sleep/wake button and Apple wont replace your iDevice.

Price: free

MyStrings was released a few months ago back in early June. There have been many features added since then including icon fonts, colors, and sizes. Toggles for battery percentage, and ability to edit the carrier. Also there have been some support updates, to allow it to work on every device!

2.0 has been being worked on for awhile, and is getting very close to release. There are just a couple more features going into this tweak, and some support issues being fixed and everyone will be able to get a hold of the new and improved MyStrings 2.0!

Some features that have been added into this release is FULL language support, a few more apps have been added to the “Applications” section, it has been completely remade so that it has device specific codes, so that devices like iPads, and iPod Touchs dont have the “iPhone Only” sections. There were also other specification codes added in so that if you dont have one of the apps in the “Applications” section it wont show up, which makes it run faster because it doesnt have to load up the extra, unneeded applications.

There is no set date for release, but follow the developers @MarksiPodTouch and @Nazaroth to keep updated with this tweak!

If you however do understand what’s going on here with the old bootrom jailbreaks, continue reading.

RedmondPie had posted a great guide on getting PwnageTool to create a custom IPSW for iOS 4.0.2 which allows you to jailbreak. IF for some reason you cannot downgrade and are stuck on 4.0.2, this guide will come in handy.

Let’s begin:

Step 1: Download and install the latest version of iTunes.

Step 2: Now start iTunes and sync your iPhone with your PC or Mac so that it backs-up all your important data including settings, apps, music, contacts and photos.

Step 3: Download PwnageTool (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=63NSJXYL) and the original iOS 4.0.2 for your version of iPhone (download link given below). Move all these files to your desktop.

Step 4: Start PwnageTool and select your device:

Step 5: PwnageTool will now automatically detect the correct firmware for your device as shown in the screenshot below:

Step 6: Click on “No” when PwnageTool asks you “Do you have an iPhone contract that would activate normally through iTunes?”:

Clicking on “Yes” will update your baseband to the latest version. Click on “Yes” only if you are on an officially supported carrier like AT&T.

Step 7: PwnageTool will now create the custom .ipsw file for your iPhone which will be jailbroken.

The following “ihaz Success” screen will confirm that the requested .ipsw file has been created successfully.

Step 8: Once the .ipsw file has been created, you will now have to restore your iPhone to this custom firmware 4.0.2 that you just cooked using PwnageTool for your iPhone. Click on your phone icon from the sidebar in iTunes. Now press and hold left “alt” button (“Shift” button on Windows) on the keyboard and then click on “Restore” (Not “Update” or “Check for Update”) button in the iTunes and then release the “Shift” button.

This will make iTunes prompt you to select the location for your custom firmware 4.0.2 file. Select the required custom .ipsw file and click on “Open”.

Step 9: Now sit back and enjoy as iTunes does the rest for you. This will involve a series of automated steps. Be patient at this stage and don’t do anything silly. Just wait while iTunes installs the new firmware 4.0.2 on your iPhone. Your iPhone screen at this point will be showing a progress bar indicating installation progress. After the installation is done, iPhone will restart automatically and you should now have a fully jailbroken iPhone running on iOS 4.0.2.

In case the Cydia icon on the homescreen is in white with no repositories added, simply add http://apt.saurik.com/cydia-3.7 repo in Cydia to get going!

How to: Unlock iOS 4.x (Any Baseband):
Follow the complete step by step guide posted here to unlock iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G, on iOS 4, on any baseband using Ultrasn0w 1.1-1.

Last week Apple released iOS 4.0.2 which was merely a patch to block the recently created http://jailbreakme.com, however, interestingly enough, they did not fix the redsn0w exploit for iPhone 3G and iPod touch 2G. So if you own an iPhone 3G or an iPod 2G all you need to do is simply use the lastest release of Redsn0w 0.9.5-b5 beta. This release will also hacktivate your iPhone 3G on 4.0.2, if you have not already been activated using iTunes.

If you require an unlock simply install ultrasn0w.

Requirements:

Redsn0w Tool from Dev-Team

For Windows – Download here

For Mac OS – Download here

iOS 4.0 Firmware

iPhone 3G IPSW Link: Download Here

iPhone 3Gs IPSW Link: Download Here

iPhone 4 IPSW Link: Download Here

Step One : Create a folder on desktop and name it whatever you want, in the following article we named it iHackintosh. Now put all your downloaded files in the iHackintosh folder. Now connect your iPhone to thecomputer and launch RedSn0w from iHackintosh folder.

Step Two : Now here comes the tricky part, when redsn0w ask you to select firmware, browse to iOS 4.0 ipsw instead of iOS 4.0.2

Step Two : Click the Open button to continue.

Step Three : In next Window check the Install Cydia option. You can select / unselect more advanced options like verbose boot, multitasking, wallpaper etc. Once you selected all required options click on next button

Step Four : Now turn off your iPhone but make sure it is still plugged in to USB port. If you satisfies this term then click next to proceed the next step is to put your iPhone in DFU mode.

Step Five : To put your iPhone in to DFU mode follow the onscreen instructions as follows Hold the Power button for 3 seconds, Hold the Home and Power buttons for 10 seconds, then release the Power button and continuing holding the Home button until your iPhone is in DFU mode.

Step Six : If all goes well, and you put your iPhone in DFU mode successfully then the following screen will appear otherwise you will be prompted to do from Step Five.

Step Seven : That’s it after 5 to 8 minute of process you will get your hands on a Jailbreaked iPhone.
