AutoSHSH – Save Your iPad and iPhone SHSH's
Our good hacking friend ih8sn0w has released another fantastic firmware tool for both iPhone OS 3.1.3 and iPad OS 3.2. Currently @saurik is saving your SHSH’s on file if your using Cydia already on 3.1.3, but if you want to do this manually for your own safe keeping, this tool works great.
And the best part of this tool is that you can even backup your SHSH’s from your iPad’s firmware. Even though it’s not entirely necessary right now, doing so might help you downgrade if jailbreaking ever becomes blocked by a new update from Apple.
You can Download AutoSHSH here.
I would post instructions on what to do, but this program is pretty straight forward. Just save the files to safe place. If your unsure what an ECID SHSH files are, “ECID” stands forExclusive Chip ID. This is a unique chip identification that is different for every iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch 3g. When you restore your device, iTunes contacts the Apple servers, to generate signatures, just for your device. It is widely thought that this a new security feature, implemented to stop jailbreaking of future or old firmwares. This is also signed in the case of a developer who is approved for access to an older firmware.
Once these files are saved you can feel safe that you may be able to downgrade in the future to a more usable firmware.
