Here is a couple of tweets, from the team:

Planetbeing: Think I’m the first one I know about to get a root shell (and SSH) oniPhone 4, using poor @comex’s code (since he has no iPhone 4).

Musclenerd: Congrats to @comex for another userland JB http://is.gd/d5N6I <– hi-res Cydia via @planetbeing & @chpwn iPhone4s

This is the first Cydia screen shot from an iPhone 4! 640 x 960 resolution!

Musclenerd shows off more proof of the iPhone 4 jailbreak:

This is huge news! This will most likely come as an update to the current Spirit jailbreak tool, but we don’t have confirmation on that. There is no release date yet, but we’ll keep you updated.

Backgrounder Is Updated To Version SVN.R504-1

The application Backgrounder, a Mobile Substrate-based extension that brings muti-tasking on iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad, was updated to version SVN.R504-1.

Backgrounder SVN.R504 changelog:

  • FIX: The settings file was not being loaded correctly.
  • This is a long-standing bug that appears to affect all recent firmware (> 3.1.3?)
  • This bug caused App Store apps to always use the Backgrounder method to background, even if set to use Native.
  • Note that there may still be issues with some of Apple’s default apps on 4.0.

Backgrounder is available in Cydia via BigBoss repository for free.

Spirit Jailbreak Tool Fix: iTunes 9.2 Compatibility [Windows]

Note: This is no “official” software supported by @Comex. This is a fix done by a third party. Use at your own risk.

Spirit is the easiest jailbreak tool for all devices on OS 3.1.3 and 3.2. When Apple released iTunes 9.2, the jailbreak community warned users that iTunes 9.2 is not compatible with the Spirit jailbreak, but is okay to install iTunes 9.2 if you use Pwnage Tool or Redsn0w. A new version of this tool was released which makes Spirit jailbreak compatible with iTunes 9.2.

Keep in mind, this (unofficial) fix doesn’t bring any other new features and will NOT jailbreak iOS 4. This tool just adds iTunes 9.2 compatibility.

iPhone 4 Vs iPhone 3GS Vs Flip Ultra HD Video Comparison [Video]

The new iPhone 4 has a 5 megapixel camera, with a backside illuminated sensor, tap to focus, LED flash and records HD video at 720p/30fps. How well does the iPhone 4 compare to iPhone 3GS and Flip Ultra HDiLounge has posted a variety of videos comparing the video capabilities of the new iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and Flip Ultra HD.

Here’s what iLounge had to say:

For the first time, iPhone 4 has the resolution to compete pixel for pixel against Flip’s higher-end recorder, and it has something Flip doesn’t: Tap to Focus during video, enabling the iPhone 4 to create depth of field effects, but also to render some scenes softly relative to the Flip since the latter device’s fixed-focus lens offers consistent sharpness without depth of field capabilities.
