Your iOS 4.0 Jailbreak and Unlock Guide to Pwnage Tool, Redsn0w and Ultrasn0w

Pwnage Tool 4.0 4.0.1 was recently released by the Dev Team and I got a request to clarify the devices that are currently Jailbreakable by this and other methods. You can find the Dev Team’s post that states the same information here. All devices running 3.1.3 or 3.1.2 or iPad 3.2 can be quickly and easily Jailbroken by Spirit, and every jailbroken iPhone can be currently unlocked by Ultrasn0w 0.9.3.

Let the iPhone 4 Pre-Orders Begin!

Pre Orders for iPhone 4 are now being accepted at Apple.com and ATT.com. Currently only the black iPhone is available, if you really want the white, you will have to hold off for the moment. Apple has been slammed with pre-orders all morning and the site has redirected to “We’ll be back soon” on and off. If this keeps happening to you, clear the cache of your device. If you are ordering from an iDevice, go to Settings>Safari>Clear Cache, also Clear Cookies. Apple’s site is also having trouble placing pre orders for delivery and it is suggesting to pick it up a an Apple Store location. I used ATT’s website to order an iPhone 4 for a June 24th delivery to my home with no problem.

Remember, if you are adding a new line or upgrading a line without a data plan, as I did, you will no longer have the option of selecting “unlimited” data, and there is a new option for tethering. There has been no official announcement about tethering but it must be stock for the iPhone 4 if you can already sign up to pay for it. If one does select this option, you better be able to use it from day one!

Leave us some comments, did you order yours?

Do You Spotify?

Do you know about Spotify? I have been using it to stream music cleaner and faster than Lala since early last year. If you live in the US, chances are you have no idea what I am talking about. There is apparently only 30,000 American users or less, according to Spotify. Even if there are thirty thousand, this is tiny compared to the amount that would actually use this incredible streaming service if it were widely known and/or officially available to United States citizens. The launch date was supposed to be “late 2009″ but it sort of faded away and since then, nothing has happened…

If you are interested in accessing this incredible service and reducing the need for a huge amount of songs on your computer and/or iDevice, read on.

Using iWhiteboard to Create a Truly Epic Post.

iWhiteboard by Andy Aude was recently released on Cydia through BigBoss, and it will be used in the creation of iFile 101.

As promised, Yoshi and I have been working on our future post, iFile 101. We envision it as a guide for those who wish to possess more knowledge and control of their iDevice. It is intended to enrich the understanding of those who have some, and open the floodgates for those who have none. It is our gift back to the community, our way of saying thanks to the all the Devs that gave the “special abilities” to our devices and especially to Carstein Heinelt, the creator of iFile. We wish it to be a trusted resource and intend it to be a work in progress. We will accept written and video contributions from those who wish to add content to iFile 101, upon approval of course, and we will take requests for updates to the guide.
